Golden Rim Resources starts RC drilling at Kada Gold Project

“Drilling will target several exciting prospects both north and south of the mineral resource area that we have identified through auger drilling, regional mapping and rock chip sampling,” says MD.

Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR) has restarted its reverse circulation (RC) drilling at its Kada Gold Project in Guinea.

This 5000-metre drilling campaign consists of approximately 60 holes to test several high priority bedrock gold prospects identified by the company’s auger drilling along the 15-kilometre Kada Gold Corridor.

Drilling will target prospects north and south of the mineral resource area and all target areas lie outside the Massan mineral resource area (930,000 ounces at 1.1g/t gold).

The planned holes are generally 80 metres deep, angled at -55°, and are designed to discover additional oxide gold mineralisation.

Assays are expected in late April.

The news comes just a day after the company announced it has started an Induced Polarisation (IP)/ground magnetics geophysical survey at Kada.

Target area

GMR has set its sights on the Bereko prospect as one of its first drilling targets.

Bereko is approximately 9 kilometres north of Massan and where the company discovered intense stockwork vein bedrock gold mineralisation, returning rock chip results up to 171.5g/t gold, in artisanal workings located within a coherent 1.5-kilometre long auger gold anomaly.

Drilling is planned on seven prospect areas: Bereko, Bekeko South, Sadan, South, Massan (outside the Mineral Resource), Massan South and Sinin.

“After the success of our resource definition drilling and our milestone maiden 930,000-ounce mineral resource at Kada, we are excited to commence exploration drilling with the objective of expanding the gold inventory along the Kada Gold Corridor, focusing on shallow oxide mineralisation,” Golden Rim managing director Craig Mackay said.

“Drilling will target several exciting prospects both north and south of the mineral resource area that we have identified through auger drilling, regional mapping and rock chip sampling.”
