Rising prices will be top of the list as new grocery figures are released on Tuesday, along with various other shifting sands for the supermarket sector as pandemic effects continue to work their way through the system.
Last month's numbers showed how more shopping habits were moving back towards pre-pandemic patterns, with store footfall increasing and less buying in bulk, but online orders almost double the 2019 proportion.
The squeeze on households' cost of living was in evidence too, with supermarket price inflation of 3.8%.
Prices and costs will also be a key item when AG Barr PLC (LSE:BAG) unscrews the cap off its full-year results, which should otherwise show evidence of a strong performance for the year to end-January.
The manufacturer of drinks such as Irn-Bru and Rubicon has already told investors that revenue is expected to be around £267mln, a 17.5% increase compared to the previous year and would also exceed its pre-pandemic performance.
Profit before tax and exceptional items is also expected to be marginally ahead of previous guidance of £41mln.
Attention will be on the effect of inflation on operating profit margins in the new financial year, which is expected to be 15.6% for the last financial year, with Barr likely to see packaging and energy-linked commodity prices rising.
"Efforts to offset inflation could present in a number of different ways, including further price increase," said analyst Sophie Lund-Yates at Hargreaves Lansdown.
"Well-known brands give AG Barr the firepower to do this to some extent, but its products don’t exactly fall into 'premium' territory, so pricing power may be limited. That puts the onus on volumes, as well as further cost cuts. The latter could be a cause for concern if it comes at the expense of marketing budgets."
Elsewhere, inflation is also a hot topic in the house-building sector, with cladding being another subject that has not gone away, with reports last week that fund manager Abrdn wrote to the country's listed builders to call for them to pay more of the costs of removing the cladding on properties they have built over the oast three decades.
Bellway PLC (LSE:BWY) was one of those cited, but don’t expect that to figure too prominently in the builder’s interim statement on Tuesday, but what should be clear is how much cash it is generating at present.
UBS forecasts revenues of £1.78bn and an operating profit of £338mln or a 19% margin.
Cost rises, staffing issues, housing demand (now interest rates are rising) and of course cladding removal are things to watch in Bellway's outlook statement.
