BlueRock Diamonds sells gem-quality 7.1 carat diamond, says market remains buoyant

"The market remains buoyant," said executive chairman Mike Houston

BlueRock Diamonds PLC, owner of the Kareevlei diamond mine in South Africa, said it sold a 7.1 carat stone for US$64,826 (about £47,700) in a September tender.

"We are delighted to have unearthed another high value, 7.1 carat, quality diamond, which sold at an excellent US$9,100 per carat in our latest tender, said executive chairman Mike Houston. “The market remains buoyant, and we continue to build our reputation with our increasing run of mine production volume delivering over 95% gem/near gem quality.”

"I am also pleased to report the expansion project commissioning is progressing well and a full update will be provided in our Q3 update week commencing Monday 11th October."

In August, the AIM-listed company sold three gem-quality diamonds for a total US$1.1mln.
