Miramar Resources outlines 600-metre gold anomaly as aircore drilling delivers high-grade Glandore result

An aircore drilling program has kicked off on the lake at Glandore totalling 5,500 metres and is targeted for completion in three weeks.

Miramar Resources Ltd (ASX:M2R) has outlined a 600-metre gold anomaly in its first aircore drilling campaign at the Glandore Project in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields region.

The anomaly returned results up to 2 metres at 4.78 g/t gold, south of Lake Yindarlgooda.

Its northeast-trending zone, defined by results >0.25 g/t gold, remains open onto Lake Yindarlgooda towards the 'East Target', where historic drilling intersected high-grade supergene and primary gold mineralisation with results up to 6 metres at 29.8 g/t, including 1-metre at 161 g/t.

Miramar plans to infill the results with further aircore drilling and test the interpreted north-eastern strike extension with the lake aircore drilling campaign.

"Another fantastic opportunity"

M2R executive chairman Allan Kelly said: “The Glandore Project provides another fantastic opportunity for our company to make a significant gold discovery close to Kalgoorlie.

“Like Gidji, Glandore is very underexplored despite some significant high-grade gold results.

“We are therefore looking forward to systematically testing the project given our first aircore campaign has already turned up results worthy of follow up.”

Glandore lake drilling

Miramar has kicked off aircore drilling on the lake at Glandore, with the primary aim to bring the western side of the granite that intrudes into the layered mafic up to a similar level of drilling detail as the ‘East Target’ before progressing to deeper diamond drilling.

This initial campaign will total around 5,500 metres and is set to take around three weeks to complete.

The Glandore Project is around 40 kilometres east of Kalgoorlie in proximity to a number of existing and/or proposed gold mining and/or processing operations.

Whaleshark multi-element anomalies

On September 3, Miramar identified a suite of large project targets for follow-up exploration at the Whaleshark Project in WA's Pilbara.

The new multi-element anomalies, which could be associated with bedrock mineralisation, appear similar to that observed over the recently discovered Havieron gold-copper deposit.

Unearthed by exploration titans Newcrest Mining Ltd and Greatland Gold PLC, Haverion hosts 52 million tonnes of resource, grading 2 g/t gold and 0.31% copper for 3.4 million gold ounces and 160,000 tonnes of copper.

Moving ahead, Miramar will field check the anomalies and plan infill sampling activities as it continues to develop Whaleshark’s exploration potential.
