The market has been mixed in morning trading, however, remains on track for a third straight rise.
The S&P/ASX 200 was as high as 0.5% to 7,542.4 early but has retraced to a 0.2% gain at 7,516.
Part of the ASX’s gains today can be attributed to WiseTech Global Ltd, which was up 40% at time of writing after surging 59% to a record high of $57.31 on strong FY22 guidance.
The company is now in a trading halt pending an announcement.
Iron ore miners were also performing strongly with BHP Group Ltd up 1.4% and Rio Tinto Limited up 3.1% after spot iron ore jumped 8.9% overnight.
As we reported this morning, Qantas Airways (ASX:QAN) Limited was flying high and continued that trajectory rising 5%.
Helping the flying kangaroo along is an announcement expected later this week that will put travel could be back on the cards in NSW.
It is hoped, NSW will restart domestic travel for vaccinated people next month.
Banks were flat. Telstra Corporate Ltd fell 3.1% ex-dividend. Wesfarmers Ltd (ASX:WES) and Woolworths Group Ltd lost 2% and Brambles (ASX:BXB) Limited dived 2.8%. Reece Ltd (ASX:REH) fell 11% on poor results.
On the small cap front
Volt Resources Ltd (ASX:VRC) was up 3.57% at time of writing, after it announced it was using innovative flowsheet design for production of battery anode material, which has so far yielded positive results.
Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME) was up 1.16% today after encountering visible gold during diamond drilling at Vanguard, part of the Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia.
Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) was up 3.3% after announcing it was on track with operations at the high-impact Jewel Well in the company’s SWISH Area of Interest (AOI) in Oklahoma’s world-class Andarko Basin.
Element 25 Ltd (ASX:E25) was up 5.19% after it successfully leached run-of-mine concentrate product from its stage-1 beneficiation plant at the world-class Butcherbird Manganese Project in WA.
The S&P ASX Small Ordinaries was up 0.69% at time of writing to 3,542,20.
