Advanced Material Development (AMD) has hired the first member of its newly established Advanced Engineering facility based both at the company’s headquarters on the Surrey Research Park and at the University of Sussex.
Dr Tim Wilderspin, who was previously an application specialist at the Graphene Engineering & Innovation Centre (GEIC) based at The University of Manchester, has been appointed as an applications engineer for AMD.

At the GEIC, Wilderspin worked to deliver projects over a range of applications including integrated sensors, printed antenna and EMI shielding with additional experience in formulation and production of conductive graphene inks.
Having obtained his PhD developing perovskite solar cells, he has since spent over ten years in engineering and development including working with Tata Steel as part of the PV accelerator research team developing second and third generation solar cells for use in building integrated applications.
