Medica Group PLC (LON:MGP) said Junaid Bajwa, the chief medical scientist at Microsoft Research, will be joining the company as a non-executive director (NED) and chair of its clinical and risk committee from April 1.
The teleradiology specialist said Bajwa is a practising physician in the NHS and in addition to his role at Microsoft Research also serves as a NED at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He also previously worked as the global lead for strategic alliances and solutions for the Global Digital Centre of Excellence at pharma giant Merck & Co (NYSE:MRK).

"I am very pleased to be joining the board of an exciting and rapidly-growing company. Medica has a compelling strategy in place which speaks directly to my clinical and digital healthcare skill set.
