Last month, the subsidiary halted operations in New Zealand until April 25 and said it would return to the country for a dedicated 150-day season in July 2022.
Meanwhile, the FTSE 250 group said on Wednesday afternoon that Costa is ready to set sail again with enhanced health and safety protocols.
These include limited capacity, swab tests, temperature checks, protected shore excursions, physical distancing, new ways of using on-board services, enhanced sanitation and medical services, and use of protective face masks when necessary.
Flagship Costa Smeralda will depart on March 27 with itineraries of 3- and 4-day mini-cruises as well as the usual week-long trip, calling at various Italian cities.
From May 1, Costa Smeralda will return to sailing one-week cruises in the western Mediterranean with visits to Italy, France and Spain.
A second ship, Costa Luminosa, will also be back in service from May 2, confirming its programme of one-week cruises in Greece and Croatia.
