AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) announced its Tagrisso drug as received acceptance for its supplemental New Drug Application (sNDA) and has also been granted Priority Review in the US.
It is being investigated as an additional treatment of patients with early-stage epidermal growth factor receptor-mutated (EGFRm) non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after the completion of surgery to remove all cancerous tissue as a solution to cure the disease.

While up to 30% of all patients with NSCLC tend to be diagnosed early enough to have potentially curative surgery, it is common that early-stage tumours return after surgery.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) grants Priority Review to candidates offering significant improvements compared to already available options. A decision for Tagrisso is expected during the first quarter of 2021, the FTSE 100 pharma giant said.
