AstraZeneca receives recommendation for approval for two candidates from EU committee

The recommendation was based on final-stage trial results for both Forxiga and Trixeo Aerosphere

AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) has announced Forxiga and Trixeo Aerosphere have been recommended for approval by the Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) of the European Medicines Agency.

Forxiga is a treatment of symptomatic chronic heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, meaning the blood being pumped out of the heart is less than the body needs, in adults with and without type-2 diabetes and has already been approved in the US.

Trixeo Aerosphere is already approved under the brand name Breztri Aerosphere in Japan, China and the US as a maintenance treatment in adult patients with moderate to severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
