SkinBioTherapeutics PLC, a life sciences company focused on skin health, has announced the appointment of Dr Jonathan Sheffield as a senior medical advisor with immediate effect.
The group noted that, since 2010, Dr Sheffield formerly served as the CEO of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), Clinical Research Network, which delivers clinical research studies throughout the NHS in England covering primary, secondary and tertiary care. In 2018-19, the network recruited over 902,000 patients into over 5,250 studies across the NHS.

He qualified as a doctor in 1981, training as a Histopathologist, and has subsequently held multiple senior medical management posts in the NHS at local, regional and national levels. He was awarded an OBE for service to the NHS in 2009 and was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians' Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine in 2011 for his contribution in the area of clinical research delivery.
