Rainbow Rare Earths confirms latest export sales as operations continue “largely as normal”

Operations at the mine are ramping up steadily and so far an export route has remained open

Rainbow Rare Earths Limited (LON:RBW) shares jumped higher on Wednesday as it told investors that it has now exported a further 100 tonnes of concentrate, in addition to the 75 tonnes sold in February.

In a statement, the company noted that in Burundi the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been limited to the closure of certain borders and airports, but the import and export of goods continues to be permitted via the land border with Tanzania.

Consequently, operations at the Gokara mine have been able to continue largely as normal, it added.

The company noted that production at Gokara has been increasingly steadily since December, and said further growth is expected as a fleet of five trucks is due to be commissioned this month.

Additionally, drier weather is expected to support operations too, it added

In early trading, Rainbow Rare Earth shares were 12% higher at 1.85p.
