Peter Ventress, currently the chairman of housebuilding group, Galliford Try plc (LON:GFRD), has been named as the successor to Bunzl PLC (LON:BNZL) chairman, Philip Rogerson.
Ventress will join the board of logistics firm Bunzl as a non-executive director on 1 June and is scheduled to move into the chair when Rogerson bunzls off in April 2020.

Ventress, who is also a non-executive director of BBA Aviation PLC (LON:BBA) will give up his position on the board of Softcat PLC (LON:SCT) at the end of the year, having deemed “three board positions good; four, bad”.
“He has a strong track record both as an executive and non-executive director of a number of international distribution businesses and will bring valuable knowledge and experience to the board,” declared Vanda Murray, the senior independent director on the board of Bunzl who led the search for Rogerson's successor.
