Bunzl’s announces retirement of long running finance director

Bunzl Plc (LON:BNZL) has announced the retirement of long running finance director Brian May, who will leave the company in February.

May has been group finance director for thirteen years and has been with the company for 25 years.

Richard Howes, currently chief financial officer at Inchcape, will join the company in September and begin as Bunzl’s chief financial officer at the start of January following a hand-over period.

“I am delighted that following an extensive search and selection process we have been able to appoint Richard to succeed Brian,” said chief executive Frank van Zanten.

“Richard has a wealth of experience across a number of sectors, working for multisite businesses with substantial global footprints. 

“He has a strong track record of leading finance functions at a number of international public companies.”
