Live Company Group swings to first-half profit as revenues jump

Live Company chairman David Ciclitira said the firm looks forward to growth in the second half

Live Company Group Plc (LON:LVCG) swung to a first-half profit as the events and entertainment company delivered a 47% jump in revenues.

The group posted an operating profit from continuing operations of £503,000 for the six months to June 30, compared to a loss of £391,000 last year.

“Having only created Live Company Group at the end of last year, we have achieved a great deal,” said chairman David Ciclitira.

“2018 was always going to be a year of investment, and I am pleased that we have recorded a profit, whilst managing to expand internationally.

“I believe that this is a good base for our full-year results and we look forward to the growth in the second half of this year.”

Following the company’s high profile show in New York in February, it decided to launch the BRICKLIVE Lego exhibition across the US and to discontinue the LEGO LIVE brand. The firm’s subsidiary, Parallel Live Group Limited, has signed a joint venture agreement with US-based firm Three Six Zero to promote BRICKLIVE events in North America.

In China, a three-year, 20-city tour of the BRICKLIVE Animal Paradise show started in August and is expected to attract a million visitors. The show features more than 60 animal models built from LEGO as well as an array of digital educational experiences.

“The recent announcements relating to both China and BRICKLIVE's launch of the joint venture in America are an indication of the exciting times we have ahead, both for the rest of 2018 and into 2019,” said Ciclitira.
