NetScientific PLC’s (LON:NSCI) shares rose in lunchtime trading Thursday after its portfolio company, ProAxsis, has had two of its products selected for inclusion in a major upcoming clinical trial into respiratory diseases.
The Bronchiectasis Research Involving Databases, Genomics and Endotyping (BRIDGE) study, funded by the European Respiratory Society (ERS), will be conducted over three years and involve 1,000 patients suffering from bronchiectasis across Europe.

The AIM-listed biotech firm said the two ProAxsis products, the NEATstik point-of-care test and the ProteaseTag Active NE Immunoassay, would be used during the study to explore new biomarkers and determine their impact on clinical outcomes.
Francois Martelet, NetScientific chief executive and ProAxsis chairman, said the inclusion of the products in the study “validates the use of these immunoassays in the respiratory field”, adding that the company expected the news to translate into “further engagement” with pharmaceutical companies active in the field.
NetScientific holds a 54% stake in ProAxsis.
Shares were up 3.2% at 32p.
