St George Mining finds one its best conductor targets to date, drilling soon

Phase II drilling is expected to commence this weekend at the prospect area.

St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has identified multiple electromagnetic (EM) targets from downhole EM surveys conducted at the Investigators prospect within the Mt Alexander Project.

The strong conductive responses detected in the surveys are likely to represent further continuity of the massive nickel-copper sulphide system.

The highest priority target identified is MAD111: X1 which has been modelled with an 80 metre down dip extent and conductivity measuring 140,000 Siemens.

St George’s executive chairman John Prineas said: “New conductor MAD111: X1 is arguably the best DHEM conductor we have seen at the Mt Alexander Project.

“The very strong conductivity of 140,000 Siemens is indicative of high grade sulphides, based on our drilling success in this area, and the impressive strike length of 80 metres supports the potential for a very material extension to the strike of the mineralisation.

“The conductor is consistent with our interpretation that the mineral system may increase at depth with thicker sulphide mineralisation. In addition to testing MAD111: X1, we will complete several step out drill holes to the north to further test this exploration model.”

Investigators phase II drilling begin this weekend

A new diamond drill rig is scheduled to arrive at Mt Alexander today to commence phase II of the drill program at the Investigators prospect.

Drill holes for phase II are being finalised, with further details to be provided next week.

The drill program will test DHEM targets, mineralisation extensions and some infill drilling will be conducted along the 1.5-kilometre strike of the Investigators ultramafic.
