The AIM-listed biotech firm, which holds a 21.7% stake in Polarean, said the trial aimed to demonstrate the non-inferiority (i.e. the efficacy in treatment) of the group's drug-device combination, using hyperpolarised 129-Xenon (129Xe) gas MRI, against an approved comparator.
In late-afternoon trading Thursday, Amphion shares were steady around 0.75p, while Polarean shares were up 1.6% at 15.2p.
