Boss Resources Ltd (ASX:BOE) has hit near-surface and deeper gold intersections during drilling at three prospects within its Golden Hill property in Burkina Faso.
Drilling was undertaken by Boss’ joint venture partner Teranga Gold Corporation (TSX:TGZ), which can earn up to an 80% interest upon delivery of a definitive feasibility study and cash payment.
The program also made a new near-surface discovery at Peksou North, one of nine prospects drilled at Golden Hill over the past 18 months.
Visible gold at Jackhammer Hill
Teranga vice president exploration David Mallo said the drilling further demonstrated excellent continuity from a series of high-grade gold intersections at multiple proximal prospects.
He said: “Drilling through the remainder of 2018 is designed to enhance our understanding of the controlling influences on gold mineralising systems at our various prospect areas and to continue expanding the resource base prior to our initial estimation.”
Results from Jackhammer Hill prospect include: 8 metres at 22.1 g/t gold, including 1 metre at 125.6 g/t from 115 metres; and 3 metres at 29.5 g/t, including 1 metre at 84.7 g/t from 138 metres.
A central core portion of the prospect included several intersections of high-grade visible gold in the drill core over a strike extent of 200 metres.

Teranga president and CEO Richard Young said the results from Jackhammer Hill built upon prior drill results and continued to grow an already exciting high-grade gold domain along trend and to depth.
Young said: “Drilling across the entire Golden Hill property supports increasing confidence that this project could represent Teranga’s third gold mine in West Africa, moving Teranga into mid-tier production status.”
The C-Zone prospect also returned high grades: 10 metres at 4.22 g/t, including 1 metre at 10.27 g/t from 120 metres; 10 metres at 2.58 g/t, including 2 metres at 7.41 g/t from 21 metres; and 6 metres at 3.36 g/t, including 2 metres at 6.6g/t from 89 metres.
Opportunity remains for new discoveries
Teranga’s drilling program identified a new near-surface discovery at Peksou North prospect, with encouraging grades supporting further analysis of the area.
Diamond drill intercepts included: 3 metres at 14.36 g/t, including 1 metre at 32.2 g/t from 23 metres and 40 metres at 1.11 g/t from 24 metres.
