Goldplat’s quarterly gold and gold equivalent production rings in at 6,966 ounces

The South African recovery operations continue to account for the majority of the company's production

Gold production is on the rise

Goldplat PLC (LON:GDP) sold 28,534 gold equivalent ounces in the nine months ended 31 March 2018, slightly up on the 27,714 ounces sold in the corresponding period a year earlier.

During the most recent quarter, the company produced 6,966 ounces of gold and gold equivalent. The South African operations accounted for 4,533 ounces, the Ghanaian operations for 1,192 ounces, and the Kilimapesa mine in Kenya for 1,241 ounces.

The company’s gold recovery operations in Ghana and South Africa continued their profitable run, while losses were cut at Kilimapesa, the company said in its operational update.

During the quarter, Goldplat also installed the elution plant and associated ancillary infrastructure at Gold Recovery Ghana, and poured first gold from this operation.

Separately, Rand Refinery paid Goldplat Recovery (Pty) Ltd an undisclosed amount in full and final settlement of the dispute between the two parties. This dispute has now been concluded.
