St George Mining Ltd (ASX:SGQ) has intersected prospective nickel sulphide ultramafic at the Windsor prospect of its East Laverton Project in Western Australia.
The first two holes of a four-hole drll program have confirmed that the area is prospective for discovery of a nickel sulphide deposit.
Downhole electromagnetic surveys will be completed in both drill holes this week.

The diamond holes have been drilled at the Windsor X2 conductor and the potential western extension of the Windsor ultramafic.
The Windsor X2 hole was completed to a depth of 350.1 metres and intersected a 107-metre thick ultramafic sequence from 243 metres.
The western extension hole was completed to 299.1 metres and intersected a prospective ultramafic bedrock from 276.6 metres to the end of the hole.
Western extension is identified
This hole identified the western extension of the Windsor ultramafic which has an interpreted east-west strike of 3 kilometres.
A high-powered electromagnetic survey will be scheduled for this area to further explore any conductive bodies that may represent nickel sulphide mineralisation.
Drilling of the two most highly rated conductors – Windsor X1 and Windsor X3 – is continuing.
The drill rig is at Windsor X1 and on Monday morning had reached a depth of 107 metres.
The target electromagnetic plate is modelled at 150 metres from surface and St George expects to complete this hole by the end of this week.

John Prineas, executive chairman, said: “Previous drilling at Windsor has delivered thick intersections of ultramafic rocks and multiple intersections of magmatic nickel sulphides.
“This has confirmed the area as highly prospective for the discovery of a nickel sulphide deposit.
“Identification of the western extension of the Windsor ultramafic is a significant breakthrough, and opens up a new target area.
“This is on strike from where the high tenor nickel sulphides were first discovered by BHP Nickel West.”

The company is continuing drilling on a 24/7 basis at its Mt Alexander and East Laverton projects in the North East Goldfields of Western Australia.
Mt Alexander is to the west of East Laverton and both projects are to the southwest of the Agnew-Wiluna belt, which hosts many world class nickel deposits.
