Investors are waiting to see whether relative stock market newcomer DFS Furniture Plc (LON:DFS) is sat on the bones of its backside come Thursday morning, when it releases full year financials.
DFS back in August warned that earnings for the year would be at the lower end of its guidance range, which was set between £82mln and £87mln.
In a note, stockbroker Numis highlighted that sales were weaker than expected due to a significant decline in footfall and orders, a trend that DFS put down to political turmoil and unfavourable weather.
Numis said it expected investor attentions will focus on the trading outlook for the 2018 financial year, given that the summer sale had reportedly started well.
Investors will also be looking for further commentary related to the agreed Sofology acquisition which is still awaiting approval from the competition regulator.
The broker highlighted that DFS shares have underperformed the sector by 12% during the past 12 months.
