Tlou Energy Limited (LON:TLOU) has announced the appointment of Hugh Swire as its new non-executive director with immediate effect.
Tony Gilby, the Botswana focussed CBM firm’s chief executive, said: “Hugh is a great addition to our team and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the board. Hugh is based in London and is very well known in the investment community.
“He is a long term Tlou shareholder having held shares since 2009 and has an in-depth knowledge of the company. We very much look forward to his contribution to the board."
Advancing coal bed methane assets
Earlier this week, Tlou revealed it had achieved ‘first power’ from its coal bed methane (CBM) project in Botswana, where the Lesedi gas field is hooked into generators.
The company describes it as a ‘significant milestone’ which is evidence of the group’s ability to deliver power from, and therefore further monetise, the CBM gas resource.
"First Gas-to-Power via CBM in Botswana is an extremely significant milestone for the company and in effect a proof of concept of 'first gas monetisation',” said Tony Gilby, Tlou managing director.
