Tlou Energy Limited (LON:TLOU) has chosen Aussie company Velseis to acquire seismic data for its Lesedi coal bed methane project and the adjacent Mamba permit in Botswana.
The 250 km 2D seismic programme should start in the next quarter with the aim to boost gas reserves at both projects.
Tony Gilby, Tlou’s managing director, said Velseis had a lot of seismic experience and the survey will enable it to boost the reserves and resources at its CBM gas to power project in Botswana.
“The seismic survey will assist in the next step of our plan to drill more wells by providing us with enhanced knowledge of the sub-surface in our project areas. Results from subsequent core well analysis may also lead to further Gas Reserve and Resources and consequently add further value to Tlou.”
Lesedi, which spans 3,800 square kilometres, is presently the focal point of Tlou’s operations. It includes the Selemo project area, a location where Tlou has been producing gas for an extended period.
