Deutsche Bank says there is anecdotal evidence that overseas buyers are returning to the London market, which is good news for Berkeley Group Holdings.
The house-builder has interim results out on Friday, but Deutsche said that with the company unlikely to provide guidance on the timing of higher-priced completions, judging the outlook may not be worthwhile.
“Instead, we believe investors should look at the cash due on forward sales as an indicator of customer demand and inferred in FY [fiscal] 2017 and guidance to FY 19.
As for those alleged returning overseas buyers, the 20% decline in the value of sterling since the EU referendum result has evidently been severe enough to banish a lot of fears over Brexit.
Accountancy software giant Sage Group produces its no doubt immaculately calculated full-year results, having guided the market to expect organic year-on-year sales growth of at least 6%.
The market is expecting full-year sales to be around £1,558mln.
UBS is tipping earnings before interest, tax and appreciation (EBITA) will be £417mln and earning per share (EPS) of 27.2p.
“We think that the number of SageOne sUBScriber adds achieved in H2 16 will be a key metric to focus on, as will whether the entry level product has seen any progress in the US specifically (c10k subscribers at 31 March). We note that competitor Intuit's competing solution Quickbooks Online has 1,315k US subscribers and 323k subscribers internationally. Intuit had 71k subscribers in the UK at the end of July (vs Sage's 120k at the end of March),” the Swiss bank said.
RPC, the plastic products design and engineering company is expected by Credit Suisse to post strong first-half earnings growth on Wednesday.
“We are looking for an EBITDA of £180mln, up 50% (y-o-y) and EPS of £0.26 (+23%). Lower EPS than EBITDA growth is explained by increased interest expense and higher share count due to the finance of the GCS and BPI acquisitions,” Credit Suisse said.
One thing to watch out for will be the divi, with Credit Suisse expecting the company to hike this by 20% to 5.8p, reflecting earnings growth and the strong balance sheet.
