Risers and fallers: Service Power shares rise on takeover talk

Some of the main news-driven share price changes at 3.45pm

ServicePower Technologies Plc (LON:SVR), up 56% to 3.9p. The workforce management solutions provider confirmed on Thursday afternoon that it had received a bid approach, sending the share price soaring.

The would-be buyer is a firm called Jonas Computing, the UK offshoot of the Canada-listed giant Constellation Software Inc.

A short stock exchange announcement detailing the news didn’t mention any financial terms of the offer.

ServicePower told investors: “The Board would like to emphasise that these discussions are at a preliminary stage and that there can be no assurances that such an offer will be made.”

Rosslyn Data Technologies PLC (LON:RDT) was on the up on Thursday afternoon as well.

Shares in the data analytics specialist gained 14% to trade at 10.1p after Rosslyn partnered up with two other firms to access more data to help improve its offering to customers.

At the other end of the spectrum, OneView Group PLC (LON:ONEV) shares dipped 15% as it warned on full-year revenues after delays to several contracts.

The post-Trump commodity climb continued overnight and into Thursday morning, with several copper miners leading the London markets higher.

Prices in the metal have rallied by than 4% this morning, sending the likes of Antofagasta Plc (LON:ANTO), Glencore International (LON:GLEN) and KAZ Minerals PLC (LON:KAZ) higher.

Copper is now up more than 10% over the past week after five – potentially six after today – consecutive positive sessions.

The further hike in prices came about after President-elect Trump promised to increase infrastructure spending in his victory speech yesterday.

Antofagasta was up 16% to 742p, KAZ was up 10% to 351p, while Glencore was up 6% to 287p.

CloudTag Inc (LON:CTAG), up 12% to 11.75p. The wearable tech group has confirmed that it has received £1.4mln in proceeds for the issue of debt securities to an investor.

The business also confirmed that it has started manufacturing its CloudTag Track device after it received an indicative order yesterday.

The order – from CloudTag’s European distributor Second Chance Limited – is subject to a manufacturing and delivery date being agreed and is worth around £880,000.

If it goes ahead, it will represent around one fifth of the £4.2mln worth of orders Second Chance has committed to placing with CloudTag for 2016, although it is unlikely that amount of orders will be placed.

Elsewhwere, Starcom Plc (LON:STAR) shares gained after the tracking solutions firm announced that cargo transporter Amerijet Airlines has approved its Kylos Air GPS Tracking Device for use aboard its aircrafts.

Starcom told investors that it hopes this partnership will enable it to access more customers in new markets in due course. Shares were up 21% to 3.3p.

It wasn’t such a good start to Thursday for the emerging markets-focused Mobile Streams Plc (LON:MOS).

Shares fell by 22% to 10.7p after the mobile media firm swung to a loss in the year to June after revenues plummeted by than 50%.
