Tlou Energy (ASX: TOU) is progressing drilling of the Lesedi 1A horizontal in-seam coal seam gas well and will complete surface infrastructure works at the Selemo Pilot Pod in Botswana later this week.
Drilling at Lesedi 1A is part of the current drilling program along with the Selemo well.
This program consists of a single vertical well at the Lesedi and Selemo pilot pods. Each well will have two 750m in-seam horizontal wells drilled to intersect it through the targeted basal Morupule Coal Seam.
The same approach has been successful in the Queensland coal seam gas basins and is expected to facilitate faster and more efficient dewatering and gas drainage of the targeted coal seam.
Surface infrastructure at Selemo will be used to test the drilled Selemo 1A-R horizontal section and Selemo 1P vertical production well.
