Risers & Fallers: Anglo American, Horizonte Minerals, MBL Group, Sky, Uranium Resources, Urban & Civic

Horizonte must hold a very good spread at its annual general meeting, because the shares shot up after the big shindig today

Below are some of the day's main news-driven share price changes.

RISERS

Uranium Resources PLC (LON:URA), up 25%. Major shareholder Estes Limited has upped its loan facility to the company to US$440,000 and extended the term of the loan facility to 30 June 2016.

Horizonte Minerals PLC (LON:HZM), up 17%. At the company's AGM, chief executive Jeremy Martin said: “"The company has a strong group of cornerstone shareholders led by Teck and a Tier 1 nickel project in terms of size and grade. These factors combined with favourable nickel market fundamentals over the next three years provide a highly compelling backdrop for Horizonte and we are proud to provide our investors exposure to one of the world's next major nickel projects."

MBL Group PLC (LON:MUBL), up 13%. Corporate lawyer Timothy Jackson-Smith and banking veteran Christopher Jones have joined the board as non-executive directors.

FALLERS

Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL), down 5.6%. The company left its 2016 production guidance unchanged after its first quarter production report.

Sky PLC (LON:SKY), down 4.2%. The pay TV company reported higher revenue and profits but costs and customer gains and losses rose.

Urban & Civic PLC (LON:UANC), down 3.2%. Robert Adair, deputy chairman has brought forward the date of his resignation and stepped down from the board of the property development company.

RISERS

Range Resources Limited (LON:RRL, ASX:RRS), up 20%. The energy firm produced 551 barrels per day in the first quarter, in line with expectations. The next material increase in production would come once new development wells are completed and brought online, and when oil production from ‘water-flood’ enhanced oil recovery commences.

Darty PLC LON:DRTY), up 17%. Conforama and Fnac have both made revised offers for the electrical goods retailer.

Botswana Diamonds PLC (LON:BOD), up 10%. The company continues to make progress in its diamond exploration campaign in Botswana in partnership with Alrosa, the world's largest diamond producer. The company said drilling on the PL085/210 prospecting licence will being in early May.

FALLERS

Chaarat Gold Holdings Ltd (LON:CGH), down 7.4%. The new feasibility report suggests that the cost of gold at the Kyrgyz project would make it the cheapest producer in the world, but it will require an investment of around US$470mln, which is quite a mouthful for a company valued at around US$22mln.

Torotrak plc (LON:TRK), down 6.5%. The trading update from the developer and supplier of emissions reduction and fuel efficiency technology was decidedly sort on sales and profit numbers, but it did highlight the company's success in reducing net cash operating expenses by around 20%.

DJI Holdings PLC (LON:DJI), down 6.2%. The company has placed shares at 60p, sending the share price down 4.25p to 64.75p.

RISERS

Strategic Minerals PLC (LON:SML), up 39%. The planning of the maiden drilling programme at the Hanns Camp nickel-copper sulphide prospect is underway and the permit of work has been lodged with the West Australian Department of Mines.

Sutton Harbour Holdings PLC (LON:SUH), up 17%. The board has determined the waterfront regeneration specialist does not have enough capital to exploit the opportunities open to it and so has appointed Rothschild to assist with a strategic review of options, which could include a sale of the company.

United Carpets Group PLC (LON:UCG), up 17%. The second largest chain of specialist retail carpet and floor covering stores in the UK said the improved trading performance seen in the first half of the financial year ending 31 March 2016 continued into the second half of the financial year.

FALLERS

Greka Drilling Limited (LON:GDL), down 11%. Revenues and profits were up in 2015, but the company warned that things are going to be a lot tougher in 2016, with a lot of over-capacity in the drill rig market in Asia.

Immedia Group PLC (LON:IME), down 8.2%. The digital music supplier hit a bum note with its 2015 results, which saw pre-tax profits all but disappear and revenues stagnate.

Tlou Energy Ltd (LON:TLOU, ASX:TOU), down 6.7%. The company said it made excellent progress at the Lesedi CBM project, in Botswana, where well testing is currently underway on the Selemo wells.
