Risers & Fallers: Centamin, Fresnillo, Interserve, Randgold, Standard Chartered, Tate & Lyle

Gold is rising, lifting precious metals miners with it. Will pawnbrokers be next?

Below are some of the main news-driven share price changes among FTSE 350 stocks at 1.15pm.

RISERS

Fresnillo (LON:FRES), up 7.4%, Randgold Resources (LON:RRS), up 6.0%, and Centamin (LON:CEY), up 5.2%. The precious metals miners are in demand as the price of gold continues to harden.

FALLERS

Interserve (LON:IRV), down 12.9%. Liberum Capital has downgraded the outsourced services provider to 'hold' from 'buy'.

Tate & Lyle (LON:TATE), down 6.3%. The sweeteners group said its commodities business was now likely to make a small annual loss.

Standard Chartered (LON:STAN), down 5.5%. The emerging markets-focused bank has had its price target chopped by JP Morgan Cazenove to 725p from 870p.

RISERS

European Metals Holdings (LON:EMH), up 12.2%. The detailed geological model of its Cinovec lithium/tin deposit has identified shallow, higher grade lithium zones.

DP Poland (LON:DPP), up 6.3%. The operator of Domino's Pizza outlets in Poland saw like-for-like sales rise 29% year-on-year in January.

Informa (LON:INF), up 5.9%. The publisher boasted of accelerating revenue growth in 2015 and upped the divi by 4.1% to 20.1p.

FALLERS

Henderson Group (LON:HGG), down 7.3%. It has not been a good morning to be long on fund managers. Henderson's 2015 results looked decent enough, but “the first few weeks of 2016 have been challenging for investors and our clients,” revealed Andrew Formica, Henderson's chief executive.

Tate & Lyle (LON:TATE), down 6.5%. The trading statement from the sweeteners group left a sour taste, even though it left guidance for the current year unchanged.

Ashmore group (LON:ASHM), down 6.1%. Another fund manager under the cosh … assets under management at the end of 2015 stood at US$49.4bn, down from US$58.9bn at the end of June 2015.
