Imperial Tobacco will also release results, with e-cigarettes likely to be near the top of the agenda for the cigarette maker.
In August, Imperial Tobacco said it was on track to meet market expectations for its full-year results, including a 10% increase in the dividend, and investors will be looking for more of the same.
The Share Centre's Spooner said: “There has also been speculation recently that the group may be a takeover target for rivals British American Tobacco and Japan Tobacco so any commentary on this will be worth noting."
Talk resurfaced today about a possible bid for the group from arch-rival British American Tobacco (LON:BATS)
The talk in dealing rooms was about a potential £50 a share offer by BAT for the maker of Lambert & Butler and JPS, although it is understood BAT might break it up and hive off parts to others such as Japan Tobacco.
Primark owner Associated British Foods is scheduled to report its full-year results on Tuesday.
Investors will be keen to see how the much-talked-about US venture is getting on, after opening its first store last month.
Keith Bowman at Hargreaves Lansdown said: “US growth is now a key component in the company’s investment story.”
The company has already guided there will be improvements in operating profit on a constant currency basis for the retail, grocery, agriculture and ingredients businesses.
Declines in European sugar prices are again expected to impact profits at the sugar business, however, with Graham Spooner at The Share Centre noting it “has been a concern for some time”.
