Renalytix rises 7% as UBS holding grows and CEO buys shares

Renalytix PLC (AIM:RENX, OTC:RNLXY, FRA:2O9)) advanced to 6p, up 7%, alongside disclosures of a larger UBS holding and share purchases by chief executive James McCullough.

The kidney diagnostics company reported UBS voting rights of 6.62%, up from 5.17% in the previous notification, in a filing released on Friday.

In the disclosure, UBS Group reported 39,949,904 voting rights held indirectly, crossing the threshold on 9 September, and Renalytix was notified the following day.

Separately, McCullough bought 340 American Depositary Shares on 8 and 9 September through OTC New York for an aggregate purchase price of $1,317.65.

The transactions comprised 250 depositary shares at $3.845 each and another 90 at $3.960 each, with each depositary share representing 50 ordinary shares.

Following these purchases, equivalent to 17,000 ordinary shares, McCullough's total interest reached 3,447,096 ordinary shares, including shares held through his family trust.

Beyond the ownership changes, Renalytix highlighted kidneyintelX.dkd, its kidney disease risk test, which has secured Medicare reimbursement and is offered commercially in the United States.

The company said kidneyintelX.dkd has tested more than 15,000 patients, citing an established Medicare payment rate of $950 per reportable result.

The commercial rollout continues across physician practices and health systems in selected US regions, providing the operational backdrop to the latest shareholding announcements.
