Tekcapital PLC (LSE:TEK) said portfolio company Guident has secured a 36-month robotic monitoring agreement with Coastal Waste & Recycling, marking another step in its shift from pilot projects towards longer-term commercial deployments.
The expanded agreement will see Guident deploy WatchBot autonomous inspection robots, its AI-powered software platform and ongoing operational support across Coastal operations. The system will carry out facility patrols and inspections covering areas including thermal monitoring, early fire detection on loaded trucks, asset damage and personal protective equipment compliance.
Coastal operates more than 40 locations across Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Tekcapital, which owns around 70% of Guident alongside US$5 million of convertible loan notes, said the portfolio company remains on track towards a potential public listing in 2026 following a US$2 million fundraising in May.
In a separate portfolio update, Innovative Eyewear (NASDAQ:LUCY) unveiled new AI features for its Lucyd smart eyewear platform, including live Gemini integration, multimodal AI conversations and upgraded Android functionality.
A new generative AI Newscast feature, due to go live next week, will create personalised audio news reports based on users’ chosen interests and deliver them through Lucyd eyewear.
