Defence Holdings shares rise 6.7% in early trading

Shares in Defence Holdings (Defence Holdings PLC (LSE:ALRT), the defence technology company, rose 6.67% to 0.80p in early trading on Wednesday, extending their recovery from the previous day’s 0.75p close.

The shares opened at 0.85p before trading at 0.80p, with the session’s high and low both recorded at 0.80p as of 8.22am BST.

The bid price stood at 0.75p and the offer price at 0.85p, while trading was taking place under normal regular trading conditions on the London Stock Exchange.

The early rise follows a period of significant volatility for Defence Holdings, whose shares have traded between 0.47p and 4.10p over the past year.

The company is developing digital technologies for defence and national security markets, with its strategy focused on artificial intelligence, autonomous systems and secure communications.

Defence Holdings announced its annual results in July and has been pursuing commercial opportunities as it develops its technology portfolio and expands its presence in the defence sector.

The company also announced a fundraising earlier this year to provide additional capital for its development plans and future opportunities.

At 0.80p, the shares remained below their 0.85p opening price but were 0.05p above the previous close, giving the company a higher early-market valuation.
