Predator Oil & Gas advances preparations for Trinidad drilling

Predator Oil & Gas Holdings PLC (LSE:PRD) has moved its Snowcap-3 appraisal well in Trinidad closer to drilling, awarding the site preparation contract to NABI Construction with civil works set to begin immediately.

The company has prepared the drilling programme for regulatory approval. Snowcap-3 will be drilled vertically to around 5,450 feet and is expected to take about 20 days, followed by an extensive well-testing programme.

The primary target, the Herrera #8 Sand, previously flowed light oil and associated gas at an initial unrestrained rate of 1,574 barrels per day from a six-foot interval in the Snowcap-1 well on the same structure. Snowcap-3 is expected to test a significantly thicker interval. Its secondary Herrera #1 target previously flowed 312 bopd at Rochard-1.

Chief executive Paul Griffiths said Predator had progressed operations “to the point of execution” following supply-chain disruption linked to the Middle East.

The company expects drilling and well testing in both Trinidad and Morocco, where work on the MOU-6 location is underway, to be completed by early November.
