Janus Electric broadens European investor reach with Frankfurt listing

Janus Electric Holdings Ltd (ASX:JNS) has expanded its international capital markets presence after its shares began trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange’s Open Market.

The secondary listing provides European institutional and retail investors with the ability to trade Janus shares in euros and is intended to increase awareness of the company as investment in zero-emission freight transport gathers momentum across Europe.

No new shares have been issued as part of the Frankfurt listing, meaning existing shareholders will not be diluted.

European investor relations program launched

Alongside the listing, Janus has appointed Frankfurt-based Dr. Reuter Investor Relations to lead investor communications and engagement activities across Germany and selected continental European markets.

The firm will support Janus in presenting its strategy, commercial progress and growth plans to European retail, sophisticated and institutional investors.

Janus chief executive officer Ben Hutt said the Frankfurt admission represented an important step in expanding the company’s international profile.

“Europe is at the forefront of the transition towards lower-emission freight transport, and we believe there is growing recognition that technologies such as battery swapping and fleet conversion can play a meaningful role alongside the production of new electric vehicles,” Hutt said.

Europe accelerates heavy transport electrification

Janus sees Europe as an increasingly important potential investor market as governments, fleet operators and logistics companies invest in lower-emission heavy transport.

The introduction of European Union carbon dioxide reduction standards for heavy-duty vehicles has helped accelerate investment in zero-emission freight solutions.

Dr. Reuter Investor Relations chief executive officer Dr Eva Reuter said the electrification of heavy transport had become an important European investment theme.

She said electric trucks accounted for 5.6% of newly registered vehicles following the introduction of the standards, compared with 3.5% in the preceding 12 months.

“Janus Electric’s approach, combining truck conversions with battery-swapping infrastructure, provides exposure to a rapidly evolving segment of the transport market,” Reuter said.

Battery-swapping platform supports international growth

Janus is developing a heavy vehicle electrification ecosystem based on its patented battery-swapping platform, truck conversion kits, charging infrastructure and integrated fleet management software.

The company’s technology enables existing diesel-powered heavy trucks to be converted to electric operation, with depleted batteries exchanged for charged units through dedicated swapping infrastructure.

The Frankfurt listing and European investor relations program offers Janus a cost-effective way to broaden its shareholder base and align its investor profile with the long-term growth opportunity emerging from global freight electrification.

The company is continuing to scale its operations in Australia and North America, where deployments are active in the United States and Canada.
