Petards Group PLC (AIM:PEG), up 13.5% changing hands at 10.5p, landed more than £1.4 million of new orders across its rail, defence and security technology businesses, adding near-term revenue support for the current year and work extending into 2027.
The AIM-listed developer of security, communication and surveillance systems said subsidiary Petards Joyce-Loebl had received orders worth over £0.9 million for rail and defence systems.
In rail, PJL won an award of over £0.5 million for eyeTrain systems and related engineering services for customer retrofit to a train fleet. The additional train sets follow earlier PJL orders fitted to other parts of the same fleet, with first deliveries scheduled later this year and completion expected during 2027.
PJL also secured a £0.4 million order from a UK prime defence contractor for Petards proprietary safety equipment for military aerospace applications, with delivery due to complete during 2026.
Separately, QRO Solutions received £0.5 million of purchase orders for automatic number plate recognition equipment and support. These include a £0.4 million order from an existing police force customer in northern England, the first under a previously announced four-year framework, plus a £0.1 million order from a new overseas customer for equipment linked to the Government of Gibraltar’s enhanced border security measures.
Petards chairman Raschid Abdullah said the awards add to the group’s order book “in support of its revenues for both the current and the next financial years”.
