Victrex surges as aerospace and electronics demand lifts sales

Shares in Victrex PLC (LSE:VCT) jumped 16.8% to 680p after the high-performance polymers manufacturer said demand in the third quarter strengthened across several end markets, keeping it on track for full-year profit targets despite continued macroeconomic uncertainty.

Revenue for the three months to 30 June increased 18% to £84.5 million, driven by a 17% increase in sales volumes to 1,238 tonnes.

The company said momentum seen in the second quarter continued into the third, with growth led by its Sustainable Solutions division.

Aerospace and Electronics delivered the strongest performance, while Medical showed signs of stabilising. Aerospace also benefited from a weak comparator after supply chain disruption affected the industry last year.

For the first nine months of the 2026 financial year, revenue increased 7% to £231.6 million, while sales volumes rose 10% to 3,375 tonnes.

Victrex said it remained on track with its profit improvement programme, with an approximately 10% reduction in headcount beginning to deliver benefits in the fourth quarter.

Net debt stood at £43 million at 30 June after payment of the group's interim dividend.

Chief executive Dr James Routh said: "Compared to the prior year, revenue growth was driven by improvement across several end markets, particularly Aerospace and Electronics, with some stabilisation in Medical."

He added: "In our final quarter (Q4), whilst we will start to see initial cost savings as part of our Profit Improvement Plan, we remain mindful of normal seasonality and wider macroeconomic conditions including the potential implications for global demand and energy costs."
