Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF) has appointed MediTime as the exclusive in-country distributor for its nerve repair product Remplir™ in Thailand, opening a commercial pathway into a Thai nerve repair market estimated at about US$84 million.
The appointment follows regulatory approval from the Thai Food and Drug Administration in CY25, allowing Orthocell to begin commercialising Remplir in Thailand.
The appointment extends Orthocell’s existing relationship with Device Technologies Group, which already supports Remplir distribution in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
Orthocell managing director Paul Anderson said the agreement was an important step in the company’s Asian commercialisation strategy for Remplir.
“The appointment of MediTime as our exclusive distributor in Thailand is an important step in executing our Asian commercialisation strategy for Remplir. Thailand represents a high-quality healthcare market with strong underlying demand for advanced nerve repair solutions.
“MediTime’s established clinical relationships, education-driven model and national distribution capability make them an ideal partner to support the successful introduction of Remplir.
“Importantly, this appointment further strengthens our successful relationship with Device Technologies Group as we continue to build out our distribution network across Asia.”
Strengthening Asian commercial strategy
Thailand is considered a strategically important market for Orthocell, supported by a well-developed hospital system and a strong medical tourism sector.
MediTime brings established coverage across leading hospitals, medical schools and regional centres, with a focus on orthopaedics and sports medicine. The distributor also has direct access to Orthocell’s core customer base of orthopaedic and plastic surgeons.
MediTime’s clinical education platform, key opinion leader relationships, hospital access, and national logistics network will support surgeon engagement and help accelerate Remplir adoption across Thailand.
Remplir rollout gathers pace
Orthocell continues to pursue a distributor-led strategy across key non-US markets, while directing internal resources toward the company-led US market. Recent US approvals have expanded access to around 336 hospitals, including 221 US military medical centres.
Product sales of Remplir are already underway in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong, while the product is also approved in Thailand, Canada and New Zealand.
Orthocell is well funded, with more than A$48 million in cash as at March 31, 2026, and no debt, supporting continued commercial expansion.
Orthocell expands humanitarian use
This week, Orthocell also expanded the humanitarian use of Remplir™ in Ukraine, with additional units being shipped to support treatment of severe peripheral nerve injuries arising from the ongoing conflict.
The regenerative medicine company said the latest shipment forms part of a coordinated philanthropic initiative, following an initial deployment in April 2025 to support battlefield trauma programs.
Remplir is being used by surgeons in complex trauma cases, including nerve damage associated with amputations, blast injuries and crush injuries, where severe peripheral nerve repair can be challenging.
Clinical experience from Ukraine is expected to help build surgeon education and support Orthocell’s planned commercial launch in Europe and the UK, subject to anticipated regulatory clearance in the second half of calendar 2026.
The update follows Orthocell’s earlier move to bring Remplir into active clinical use across the US military and veteran healthcare system, strengthening the company’s position in advanced nerve repair markets.
