Orthocell Ltd (ASX:OCC, OTC:ORHHF) has expanded the humanitarian rollout of its nerve repair device, Remplir™, in Ukraine, following growing use of the product for severe peripheral nerve injuries caused by the ongoing conflict.
The regenerative medicine company said additional devices were now being shipped to Ukraine through a coordinated philanthropic initiative, after an initial deployment in April 2025 supported battlefield trauma programs.
Surgeons have reported strong clinical utility for Remplir in complex trauma cases, including injuries linked to amputations, blast trauma and nerve crush injuries.
Clinical experience from Ukraine is expected to support surgeon education and Orthocell’s planned commercial launch in Europe and the UK, following anticipated regulatory clearance in the second half of calendar 2026.
Earlier this year, the company moved Remplir into active clinical use within the US military and veteran healthcare system.
Expanded humanitarian shipment
The latest shipment follows support from Australian corporate donors including Wyllie Group, Andrew Forrest’s Minderoo Foundation, Canaccord Genuity (TSX:CF, LSE:CF) Australia, Gilbert + Tobin, Device Technologies Australia, Bell Potter and Argonaut Securities.
The donor group has agreed to purchase 100 Remplir devices at humanitarian pricing for shipment to Ukraine, while Orthocell has donated a further 100 devices. The Ukraine Crisis Appeal has also pledged A$10,000 to support the initiative.
The program builds on Orthocell’s first humanitarian shipment to Ukraine in April 2025, which was coordinated through Professor Fiona Wood AO and UK defence surgeons supporting battlefield trauma programs.
Supporting victims of war
Current estimates indicate more than 400,000 Ukrainians, including children, have sustained trauma-related injuries during the conflict, creating substantial demand for advanced reconstructive and nerve repair technologies.
The company said the additional devices would help treat complex battlefield and civilian trauma injuries, increasing access to advanced nerve repair technology for victims of war.

This was anchored by a recent Nerve Symposium event in Sydney Australia to advance knowledge-sharing in reconstructive surgery, peripheral nerve repair, and trauma management.”
Remplir’s role in nerve repair
Remplir is Orthocell’s collagen-based medical device for peripheral nerve reconstruction. The company said the product creates a bioactive healing chamber designed to support new tissue formation and integration, while offering surgeons a faster and easier procedure that can reduce or eliminate the need for sutures.
Orthocell said Remplir can be used to connect severed nerves after trauma, protect repaired or decompressed nerves following injury or surgery, and cap nerve endings after amputations or other procedures.
The device was cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration in April 2025 and is also cleared for use and sale in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.
