Light Science Technologies Holdings PLC (AIM:LST, FRA:9FD) told investors that its UK Circuits division has boosted manufacturing capacity after securing a new partnership and installing a surface mount technology production line at its Oldham facility.
The AIM-listed technology and manufacturing group said UK Circuits had purchased the SMT line from a partner that provides workforce management, access control and safety systems to the construction and infrastructure sectors.
The equipment upgrades one of UK Circuits’ three manufacturing lines, increasing component placement throughput by around 40–50%, while also improving placement accuracy, feeder capacity and software functionality.
UK Circuits has already received an initial manufacturing order worth about £70,000 for the current financial year. The partner has also indicated potential total orders of up to £200,000 in the same period, subject to the use of transitional free-issue components from its remaining stocks.
The project covers the manufacture of four printed circuit board assemblies for industrial control systems related to fire safety.
