IXICO PLC (LSE:IXI, OTC:PHYOF, FRA:PYPB), the neuroscience imaging and biomarker analytics company, has released the tenth version of its proprietary IXI platform, bringing improvements to processing speed, data capacity and image analysis precision.
The London-based group uses artificial intelligence to help pharmaceutical companies develop drugs for neurological disorders, including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and Huntington's disease.
Version 10 introduces new tools for remote image access and data quality checks, while enabling the platform to handle larger volumes of clinical trial imaging data more quickly.
The upgrade also lays the foundation for IXICO to extend its technology beyond its traditional role as an imaging contract research organisation, as part of a broader strategy the company calls TechBio.
That strategy aims to expand the group's addressable market by allowing external organisations to access IXI directly through licensing, technology integration and partnerships.
IXICO announced a collaboration with Medidata in March as an early example of that approach.
The IXI platform uses machine learning and deep learning to process neuroimaging data from global clinical trials, measuring biomarkers associated with the identification, progression and treatment of neurological diseases.
IXICO says it is the only technology platform of its kind built exclusively for neuroimaging processing and neurological biomarker analysis, with more than 30 analytics algorithms handling everything from image capture to regulatory-compliant reporting.
Bram Goorden, chief executive, said the central nervous system field was rapidly embracing precision medicine and that clinical development players needed technologies capable of delivering faster, more scalable and more precise biomarker insights.
He said the latest version increased accuracy and processing capacity while strengthening data quality oversight and simplifying integration with established partner platforms.
"This all with one objective in mind: helping biopharma make earlier and better-informed decisions," Goorden said.
IXICO's technology supports the pharmaceutical industry across the drug development process, helping to inform decisions earlier through a single end-to-end platform.
