Riversgold hits high-grade gold as Kalgoorlie drilling expands Northern Zone footprint

Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL, FRA:RGV, OTC:RVSGF) has delivered a new round of strong drilling results from its Northern Zone Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, with high-grade intercepts and shallow mineralisation continuing to extend the footprint of the system.

Assays from 31 aircore drillholes have returned grades of up to 71 g/t gold, alongside multiple broad intercepts that rank among the best results recorded at the project to date.

The latest program targeted the shallow “saddle” area between known zones of mineralisation, helping to link and expand the broader gold system.

Strong intercepts highlight shallow potential

Key results from the campaign underline both grade and continuity within the Northern Zone, including:

  • 15 metres at 5.62 g/t gold from 48 metres
  • 8 metres at 9.90 g/t from 48 metres
  • 8 metres at 4.64 g/t from 48 metres
  • 6 metres at 4.05 g/t from 46 metres
  • 10 metres at 3.81 g/t from 30 metres

These intercepts sit within a broader pattern of consistent mineralisation, with multiple holes returning shorter high-grade zones and supporting the emerging scale of the system.

Notably, individual 1-metre assays reached as high as 71 g/t gold, reinforcing the presence of high-grade shoots within the wider mineralised envelope.

“These latest results represent some of the best intercepts for grade and width we have drilled at the project so far,” Riversgold chairman David Lenigas said.

“These strong results continue to expand the lateral footprint of Northern Zone, and we are continuing to achieve the goal of making the project significantly bigger in the oxide zone,” he added. “The more we drill laterally, the more gold we find on the top of this porphyry gold system, and these exceptional drill results today will guide us towards the next drill program."

Expanding a growing gold system

The latest drilling continues to validate Riversgold’s geological model, with mineralisation hosted in a porphyry intrusion and extending laterally across the project area.

Work has now successfully tested the previously underexplored zone between the central saddle and eastern mineralised area, effectively linking parts of the system and expanding its footprint.

Mineralisation remains open at depth and along strike, with multiple undrilled zones still evident across the broader target area.

The project sits within the Canon Shear zone, a structurally favourable setting in the Kalgoorlie region, and is hosted within a tonalite-trondhjemite intrusion associated with intrusion-related gold systems.

Importantly, the mineralisation is relatively shallow, with most intercepts occurring within 60 metres of surface, supporting potential for low-cost development options.

The updated interpolant model is constrained via a 50m buffer to all the RGL/Oracle drill hole traces that have been drilled at Northern Zone since 2021, up to March 2026. Development pathway taking shape

Alongside exploration success, Riversgold is advancing key steps towards potential development at Northern Zone.

The company confirmed that conversion of the project tenure to a mining lease is well progressed and expected in the coming weeks, while heritage clearance surveys have recently been completed.

Riversgold has also secured a Right to Mine and Co-Operation Agreement with MEGA Resources, which will fund development and mining activities in exchange for a 50/50 profit share.

This arrangement provides a clear pathway to production while limiting up-front capital requirements for the company.

Lenigas noted that the latest drilling results would feed directly into development planning, particularly as the company looks towards potential mining scenarios as early as 2026.

Building momentum across the Kalgoorlie project

The results add to a growing body of exploration success at the broader Kalgoorlie Gold Project, where Riversgold has been steadily expanding its landholding and drilling activity.

Recent work has focused on extending the Northern Zone footprint and testing new targets, following earlier programs that identified widespread shallow gold mineralisation across the project area.

With drilling continuing to deliver consistent results and key approvals nearing completion, the project is moving into a more advanced phase — where exploration upside is increasingly being matched by development potential.

Further drilling is planned to test extensions of mineralisation both laterally and at depth, as Riversgold works to better define the scale of the system and support future resource definition.
