Lumos Diagnostics lands Micro-Pak manufacturing deal with first US$250k order

Lumos Diagnostics Holdings Ltd (ASX:LDX, OTC:LDXHF) has secured a new three-year contract manufacturing agreement with Micro-Pak, marking a further step in scaling its commercial services division alongside its ongoing push into the US diagnostics market.

The agreement covers the manufacture of Micro-Pak’s Mold Analyzer system, a rapid testing platform designed for on-site detection of mould across supply chains and in consumer settings. Lumos has already received its first purchase order under the deal, valued at US$250,000, signalling the start of commercial-scale production.

Mold Analyzer moves into production phase

The Mold Analyzer system was developed by Lumos for Micro-Pak and combines a proprietary rapid test cassette, a digital camera reader and a custom mobile application. The system is capable of detecting 56 mould species, offering broad-spectrum coverage and faster turnaround times compared with traditional laboratory analysis.

Management said the agreement builds on four years of product development collaboration between the two companies.

Chief executive Doug Ward said the contract highlights the growing importance of Lumos’ services business, which provides assay development and manufacturing capabilities for third-party diagnostic products.

“This agreement demonstrates Lumos’ ability to convert substantial contract development programs into ongoing contract manufacturing agreements,” Ward said.

“We are proud to have worked with Micro-Pak to develop the Mold Analyzer from concept through to market launch. This first purchase order marks the start of commercial-scale manufacturing for Micro-Pak and represents valuable revenue for Lumos’ services business.”

The Mold Analyzer product is designed for both professional and consumer use, with a standalone visual-read option offering a lower-cost solution for home testing. It also provides traceability across supply chains, aligning with Micro-Pak’s existing mould prevention and testing services.

Services arm gains traction alongside FebriDx rollout

The Micro-Pak deal adds to a series of recent developments for Lumos as it expands both its services division and its proprietary diagnostics portfolio.

The company has been advancing its FebriDx point-of-care test in the United States, with recent milestones including regulatory progress, capital raising and early commercial traction. These efforts have positioned FebriDx as a key growth driver, particularly following regulatory clearances that broaden its addressable market.

At the same time, Lumos has been working to build a more diversified revenue base through contract manufacturing and development partnerships. The Micro-Pak agreement underscores this strategy, providing near-term revenue while leveraging the company’s existing technology platforms and manufacturing expertise.

The contract runs for three years with automatic one-year renewal periods, offering potential for ongoing revenue as Micro-Pak scales distribution of the Mold Analyzer system.

Dual-track growth strategy

Lumos’ model increasingly centres on two complementary pillars: commercialising its own diagnostic tests and supporting partners through its services platform.

The latest agreement highlights how the services division can generate earlier-stage revenue and validate the company’s underlying technology, while longer-term value may be driven by proprietary products like FebriDx.

With initial orders now flowing under the Micro-Pak contract and further opportunities expected as production ramps up, Lumos is strengthening its position as both a diagnostics innovator and a contract manufacturing partner in the global point-of-care testing market.
