Kairos Minerals Ltd (ASX:KAI, OTCQB:KAIFF, FRA:YAJ) is set to rebrand as Pilbara Gold Ltd after shareholders approved a company name change at an extraordinary general meeting held on March 30, alongside a 1-for-15 consolidation of issued securities.
The company said the new name reflects its focus on the 100%-owned Mt York Gold Project in WA’s Pilbara, where it holds a 1.4-million-ounce gold resource and sees further growth potential along the project’s Main Trend and surrounding targets.
Following the shareholder vote, Kairos will now move to formally change its registration details with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Once that process is complete, the company expects to adopt the new ASX ticker code PGL in place of KAI, with the change anticipated to be finalised on or around April 13, 2026, subject to ASX and ASIC confirmation.
The name change marks a notable shift in the company’s market identity, positioning it more directly around its Pilbara gold strategy as it advances Mt York.
Mt York becomes central to new identity
The project was partially mined in the 1990s and is now the company’s flagship asset, underpinned by a scoping study pointing to an open-cut operation processing 4 million tonnes per annum over eight years. Kairos has flagged drilling of Main Trend extensions and nearby prospects as the next step in seeking resource growth and improved project economics.
Shareholders also approved a capital consolidation on a 1-for-15 basis, with every 15 existing shares to be consolidated into 1 share. The consolidation will also apply to the company’s options and performance rights, with option exercise prices to be adjusted in line with ASX listing rules.
The company said the move would not change the underlying value of shareholders’ holdings, aside from rounding adjustments. The effective date of the consolidation is March 31, 2026, with normal trading in post-consolidation shares on a T+2 basis expected to begin on April 15, 2026.
Kairos said it would now lodge the required documentation with ASIC and work with ASX to implement both the name and ticker change alongside the consolidation.
Beyond Mt York, the company also owns the Roe Hills Project east of Kalgoorlie, where exploration has highlighted potential for gold, nickel, cobalt and rare earth element mineralisation. But the approved rebrand signals that Mt York and the broader Pilbara gold opportunity are set to become the clearest expression of the company’s identity as it moves into its next phase.
