Market movers: Super Micro, Arm, Mosaic, Planet Labs…

Arm Holdings PLC (NASDAQ:ARM) is expected to unveil its first in-house standalone merchant CPU at its upcoming “Arm Everywhere” event in San Francisco, a major shift from the company’s traditional IP-licensing and royalty-based business model, according to Bank of America analysts.

Bank of America believes that the new chiplet could dramatically increase Arm’s potential market and earnings, enabling the company to compete across the rapidly growing $60 billion agentic and AI CPU segment by 2030.

Lithium Americas Corp (TSX:LAC, NYSE:LAC) shares fell about 5% to less than $4 following the company’s fiscal fourth quarter 2025 earnings report, which showed a larger-than-expected loss.

The company posted a loss per share of $0.37, more than estimates of a $0.04 loss per share.

Planet Labs (NYSE:PL) reported strong fourth quarter results and raised its fiscal year 2027 guidance, prompting Wedbush to maintain an ‘Outperform’ rating and lift its price target from $30 to $40.

Super Micro Computer Inc (NASDAQ:SMCI) co-founder Yih-Shyan Liaw has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged $2.5 billion scheme to smuggle high-performance servers containing Nvidia GPUs to China, US prosecutors said.

Liaw was arrested on charges related to what authorities described as a scheme that funneled approximately $2.5 billion in servers through a Southeast Asian shell company to Chinese buyers, according to the indictment.

Xpeng Inc (NYSE:XPEV)’s US-listed shares fell nearly 5% in early trading on Friday, as a weaker near-term outlook overshadowed the company’s first-ever quarterly profit.

The Chinese electric vehicle maker reported a fourth-quarter net profit of RMB0.38 billion ($54.8 million), compared with a loss of RMB1.33 billion a year earlier and a loss in the prior quarter.

Sound Energy PLC (AIM:SOU, OTC:SNEGF) shares slumped some 38%, to 5.2p, after it secured around US$2.2 million in fresh funding as a revised timetable pushed first gas from its Tendrara Phase 1 micro-LNG project in Morocco into early Q3 2026.

The AIM-listed group said it had agreed a €1.3 million term loan facility and completed a £0.5 million equity placing to fund working capital through to first gas, while also providing initial backing for Tayra Energy SAS, its newly formalised solar joint venture with Gaia Energy.

Cloudbreak Discovery PLC (LSE:CDL, OTC:CDBDF) shares moved up in Friday's trade, rising 17% to 0.5p, after the explorer set out its 2026 gold exploration plan for its Darlot West and Crofton projects in Western Australia, with drilling at Darlot West edging closer as the company pushes ahead with approvals and target definition.

At Darlot West, the company is planning an initial 3,000m to 5,000m drilling programme to test structural targets identified through recent geophysical interpretation and surface exploration. A Program of Work application has already been submitted, with approval expected in the coming weeks.
