SkinBioTherapeutics PLC (AIM:SBTX, FRA:5KW), the AIM-listed life sciences company focused on skin health, has seen its shares jump 11% to 11.14p after a regulatory filing revealed that investors Mark H Dixon and Diana Dixon had built a 22% stake in the business.
The couple's holding has risen sharply in a matter of weeks, from 5.64% at the start of the year to 20.47% as of 12 February, before crossing to 22.015% on 6 March.
The 57 million shares are held through Rock Nominees based in London.
The accumulation has taken place against a turbulent backdrop for the company, whose shares collapsed after the suspension and then resignation in February of chief executive Stuart Ashman amid allegations of financial misrepresentation.
The identity of Mark H Dixon has not been confirmed, and SkinBioTherapeutics has not commented on who stands behind the growing stake.
One unverified report has linked the name to a figure in horse race breeding, though this has not been substantiated.
