Lindian Resources Ltd (ASX:LIN, OTC:LINIF) has sharpened its focus on execution at the Kangankunde Rare Earths Project in Malawi, using the December 2025 quarter to move from site establishment into active construction and operational build-out.

In its quarterly activities report released on Friday, the company said it awarded the design-and-construct (D&C) contract for the Stage 1 processing plant, began mobilising its owner-operator Komatsu mining fleet, and locked in key non-process infrastructure packages — while maintaining a strong safety record and lifting its project ownership to 100%.

Unlike traditional AI systems that respond to prompts or predefined rules, AI agents are designed to operate with a degree of autonomy. They observe environments, plan actions, execute tasks and adapt over time — often coordinating with other agents or systems. In practice, that means moving beyond “assistive” AI towards software that can act.

Estrella Resources Ltd (ASX:ESR) has started market sample extraction activities at its Ira Miri manganese project in Timor-Leste, aiming to produce up to 30,000 tonnes of manganese ore for market appraisal.

The bulk sample is intended to support sale, export and testing with prospective long-term offtake partners, and is expected to strengthen engagement with multiple international counterparties on the back of Ira Miri’s “high-grade, low-impurity ore”.

Aruma Resources Ltd (ASX:AAJ) has struck a binding deal to acquire a majority stake in the high-grade Tillex Copper-Silver Project in Ontario, marking a significant expansion into one of Canada’s most established mining regions.

The company has executed agreements to acquire an 85% interest in the Tillex project from Canadian explorer Metals Creek Resources, along with 100% ownership of adjoining patented claims, consolidating a substantially drill-defined copper sulphide system in the Tier-1 Timmins mining district.

Peninsula Energy Ltd (ASX:PEN, OTCQB:PENMF, FRA:P1M) has started acidification at Header House 16 in Mine Unit 4 (MU-4) at its 100%-owned Lance Uranium Project in Wyoming, advancing its production reset plan.

Acidification at Header House 14, which began in late December 2025, is tracking ahead of expectations, with average flow rates of about 15 gallons per minute (GPM) to date versus a reset plan assumption of 12 GPM.

Santos Ltd (ASX:STO) lifted fourth-quarter production to 22.3 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe), up 5% on the previous quarter, taking full-year output to 87.7 million boe despite weather disruption in the Cooper Basin.

Quarterly sales volumes rose 15% to 24.8 million boe, delivering more than $1.2 billion in revenue. Full-year unit production costs were held below $US7/boe, excluding Bayu Undan.

Australia’s labour market delivered an upside surprise in December, reigniting debate over whether the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) could resume tightening sooner than previously expected.

Employment rose by 65,200 jobs in December, sharply rebounding from a revised 21,300 decline in November and more than double market expectations of 30,000, according to consensus estimates cited by Reuters. The strength of the result pushed the unemployment rate down to 4.1% from 4.3%, defying forecasts for a rise to 4.4%.

American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR, OTCQB:ARRNF) has secured a research partnership with the University of Wyoming aimed at identifying potential end-uses for tailings and other byproducts associated with future rare earths production at its flagship Halleck Creek Project.

The company said the collaboration, undertaken through its wholly owned US subsidiary Wyoming Rare (USA) Inc., has been selected for a competitive Seed Translational Acceleration of Research (STAR) Project award. The funding is delivered under the University of Wyoming’s National Science Foundation-backed Accelerating Research Translation (ART) program, which focuses on applied research with clear commercial outcomes.
