SkinBioTherapeutics appoints new CFO and audit chair in board reshuffle

SkinBioTherapeutics PLC (AIM:SBTX) has promoted Emily Bertram to chief financial officer and appointed Alyson Levett as a new non-executive director and chair of the audit committee, as part of a New Year board refresh at the skin health company.

The AIM-listed firm, which develops microbiome-based treatments and supplements, said the changes took effect on 1 January. Danielle Bekker has stepped down as a director but will continue to support the business as an external adviser.

Bertram, previously group finance director, now takes a seat on the board as CFO. A chartered accountant, she joined SkinBioTherapeutics from business advisory group Azets, where she was head of financial planning and analysis.

Her earlier roles span a range of sectors, including medtech, pharmaceuticals and banking, with senior finance posts at Leica Biosystems, Quantum Pharma, Northern Rock and others.

Levett brings over two decades of senior financial experience, including ten years as chief financial officer of i-nexus, the strategy software firm she helped float on AIM in 2018.

Since stepping down from that role, she has built a portfolio of non-executive positions focused on audit oversight. She currently sits on the boards of GETECH Group, Eleco and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, and is a trustee of En-Fold Autism Support.

Martin Hunt, chairman of SkinBioTherapeutics, said: “On behalf of the board, I’m delighted to welcome both Alyson and Emily to the Board, and congratulate Emily on her promotion.

"I’d also like to thank Cathy Prescott for the work she’s done as Chair of the Audit Committee and Danielle for staying on as an advisor.

"These appointments strengthen the board, especially the financial elements and provide welcome support to the Executive Management as we enter a busy 2026.”
