Defence Holdings launches national security 'pillar', shares dip

Defence Holdings PLC (LSE:ALRT) shares were down on Tuesday; meanwhile, the firm announced the launch of a national security executional pillar within its Defence Technologies division.

The initiative focuses on the application of sovereign AI to domestic security and resilience. As part of the launch, the company confirmed a strategic collaboration with Gloucestershire Police. The project will deliver a proof-of-value programme using AI to automate the production of interview reports from recorded police interviews.

Andy McCartney, chief technology officer, said: “By applying sovereign AI to high-volume evidential workflows, we aim to free officer time and improve the consistency of interview documentation.”

In London, Defence Holdings shares were down around 15% changing hands at 1.8p in Tuesday morning's trade.
