Nexus Minerals unveils new Wallbrook gold discovery as Amand prospect delivers thick, high-grade hits

Nexus Minerals Ltd (ASX:NXM) has confirmed a new regional gold discovery at its Wallbrook Gold Project in WA, with final reverse circulation (RC) assays demonstrating multiple thick, high-grade gold zones across the newly renamed Amand Prospect — previously Target MC4.1.

The company says drilling has now shown enough continuity and scale potential to elevate Amand to a standalone prospect, with mineralisation defined over a 1.7-kilometre-by-600-metre footprint — and still open in all directions.

Standout intercepts signal scale potential

A total of 30 RC holes for 3,189 metres were completed at Amand as part of Nexus’s broader 6,155-metre, 59-hole RC program at Wallbrook, northeast of Kalgoorlie. The latest assays returned broad mineralised zones with high-grade intervals, including:

  • 95 metres @ 0.97 g/t gold (Au) from 15 metres, including 2 metres @ 8.36 g/t Au (within 6 metres @ 3.26 g/t Au) from 18 metres and 10 metres @ 1.66 g/t Au from 100 metres;
  • 1 metre @ 12.08 g/t Au (within 7 metres @ 1.90 g/t Au) from 57 metres;
  • 1 metre @ 5.88 g/t Au (within 3 metres @ 2.39 g/t Au) from 68 metres; and
  • 3 metres @ 2.49 g/t Au (within 25 metres @ 0.61 g/t Au) from 42 metres.

These build on earlier drilling success at the same target, including historic intercepts such as:

  • 23 metres @ 2.52 g/t Au including 8 metres @ 5.41 g/t Au (within 34 metres @ 1.73 g/t Au) from 5 metres;
  • 6 metres @ 4.28 g/t Au from 76 metres; and
  • 8 metres @ 4.00 g/t Au (within 21 metres @ 1.69 g/t Au) from 24 metres

Nexus says RC drilling intersected mineralisation at both the northern and southern ends of the drill grid, underscoring the footprint and providing immediate follow-up targets along strike and at depth.

Systematic exploration delivering results

The Amand assays are part of Nexus’s staged exploration strategy across the Wallbrook tenement package, where the company now considers multiple discoveries to be emerging.

Final 1-metre RC results are still pending for the Clement and Godfrey prospects, while a 10,000-metre aircore drilling campaign is currently under way to test new target MC3.3 and extensions at Branches.

Managing director Andy Tudor said the Amand results further verify the company’s disciplined, multi-prospect approach.

“RC drilling results continue to build on the early aircore success at Amand Prospect to reflect its rapidly emerging mineralising potential. Amand has delivered exceptional widths and grades from a limited number of holes over a large 1.7km x 600m footprint, highlighting its potential to become a significant new discovery within the broader Wallbrook Gold Project,” Tudor said.

“The strong results recently reported from Clement Prospect, located just 250 metres east of the Crusader-Templar deposit, and prior exploration success at the Branches, Payns and Godfrey Prospects, position Wallbrook for substantial mineral resource growth,” he added. “The results reinforce our disciplined exploration approach and demonstrate the project’s capacity to yield additional high-quality gold discoveries.”

Next steps

  • Completion of the current aircore program, due mid-November.
  • Remaining 1-metre assays from Clement and Godfrey.
  • Planning for follow-up RC drilling targeting strike extensions and depth potential at Amand.

Nexus continues to hold a dominant land position in the Eastern Goldfields, immediately north of Northern Star’s Carosue Dam operations. The company recently highlighted a six-quarter funding runway, allowing continued systematic exploration across multiple prospects.
